Government of Alberta Fusarium Regulations

February 10, 2018

The government of Alberta is actively consulting on how Fusarium graminearum (Fg) is regulated in the province. The province’s current zero tolerance policy for seed is a position which CSTA has been advocating to change for many years now. The government of Alberta has released a survey as Phase 1 of their consultation. If your company operates in Alberta and/or is at all impacted by the current Fusarium regulations please take the survey which can be found here:

In March, 2017 a Fusarium Industry-Led Working Group was established to create a unified industry position and to begin to advocate the government of Alberta on the need for change, beginning with a meeting with Minister, Deputy Minister and other senior staff of Alberta Agriculture and Forestry  in August 2017. The Industry-Led Working Group has now finalized a response to the survey which can be used to help strengthen individual company submissions. The response can be found here.
